She hid Raphael from the soldiers who were pursuing him though only in spite of the soldiers, who ran her poverty-stricken town. One day, she came across a man named Raphael Sorel, who was being chased by the local authorities. ![]() She had no other family to go to after the loss of her parents. Her parents died of a plague (Black Death) that had spread across all of Europe during this time period. In Soulcalibur II, Amy was a poor orphan who lived on the streets of Rouen. She is voiced by Kanako Tateno and Hitomi Nabatame in the Japanese version, and by Heather Hogan in the English version. The two only have each other to trust in this world and they deeply love each other as father and daughter. Raphael appears to be the only one that she cares about in the world.Īs gratitude for saving his life, he trained her to be a formidable wielder of the rapier. Her trademark Gothic Lolita inspired outfit matches her cold demeanor and pessimism. She does not show remorse in her quick and deep slashes nor holds back her disdain toward her opponent. Even though she has an innocent appearance, Amy behaves much more ruthlessly probably due to the combination of the tragic loss of her parents, harsh childhood in poverty and the influence of Raphael. Her character is in contrast to Talim, as they are both young and pretty females. She has also appeared in Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny and Soulcalibur: Lost Swords. She also shares her movelist with Scheherazade, one of the bonus characters. Later in Soul Calibur IV, Amy became a main unlockable character, using a mixture of the rapier discipline from Soulcalibur III along with some moves borrowed from her foster father, Raphael. When he disappears in Soul Calibur IV she sets off after him, which in turn makes her a playable character for the first time. She is the adopted daughter of Raphael Sorel and is fiercely loyal to him despite his being a villainous character. Amy will be the perfect character for patient players who love to punish opponents for their mistakes.Amy Sorel is a character in the Soul Calibur series. Her rapier doesn’t provide long range instead, she is pretty mobile. She isn’t a good choice for those players who like to use brute force to defeat opponents. PlaystyleĪmy is a difficult character to play. She would do everything for him and his happiness. She is incredibly loyal to the man who gave it to her. However, there is a glimpse of hope in her eyes. She is a cold, cynical woman caring only for Raphael. PersonalityĪmy’s childhood left a heavy footprint on her personality. AppearanceĪmy is a miniature female wearing a beautiful plum and black gothic lolita dress. Her rapier, Albion, became the symbol of her hope. To catch up with Raphael, she had to learn how to wield a sword, learn etiquette and educate herself. Raphael, that nobleman, thankfully brought Amy with her, where she was introduced to a new world. Amy decided to help him, not because of sympathy towards that nobleman, but because of hatred towards soldiers - they brought many troubles to her. Amy was on her way back “home” when a noble rushed out of nowhere and collided with her. Violence, calculation and fight for dear life were around her. She was born on the outskirts of Rouen, and her world did not consist of ponies and rainbows. Amy Sorel, aka the Winter Rose, did not have a very happy childhood. ![]()
